We Have Closed
It is with great sadness that I have decided to close the nursery. As most of you know, my wife Marcia and I opened The Vintage Rosery six years ago. It was more than a dream. It allowed us to live and work together each day. As we stepped out our front door every morning, our rose gardens were in every direction. Now that Marcia is no longer with us, my heart just is not into the business of roses any longer. However, a lovely Christian couple has stepped forward and will be maintaining all of our wonderful gardens. Cindy and Kenneth Gimme will be using the gardens and house as a wedding and special event venue. They decided to name it The Rose Gardens.
What the future holds for me, I do not yet know. I'm praying for God to tell me that. In the mean time, I am continuing to live one day at a time. This month's goal is to move to the small house on the back of our property to make room for the Gimme's. This is going to help me simplify my life a bit.
What I do not yet have is a plan for the roses. If you run into someone with a need for 8 to 10 thousand organically grown antique roses, have them call me!
I want to thank each of you for all your support these many years. One reason Marcia and I loved growing and selling old roses was because of our customers. Gardeners are such wonderful people with such positive attitudes. It is just infectious being around people always looking forward to what might be found in God's garden tomorrow. We loved to help each one of you find the joy in your garden. I hope you also have become addicted to old roses as we have and will continue to add them to your gardens.
