The Vintage Rosery
Needville, Texas

Unless otherwise noted, all photographs were taken of the roses in our gardens located in Needville, Texas (zone 8b.)

Roses love the sun, which is why they are so well suited to hot, Gulf Coast summers. They typically need six hours of direct sun to grow and bloom well. These varieties can tolerate less. They will not grow in total shade, but will make due in areas that are less than ideal.

Some extra bonemeal in the soil will encourage blooming. Fish & seaweed fertilizer is also recommended, as this will add enzymes and growth hormones to the soil.
