Chestnut Rose
Species
Prior to 1814
Although this rose only blooms in the spring, the flowers are well worth it. The buds are mossy-looking, like a chestnut, and open to lightly fragrance pink blooms. This rose is also known as the `Chinquapi Rose'  and the `Burr Rose'. The botanical name is rosa roxburghii. If allowed to reach its full height of 7', it will make a fine specimen plant. Double, deep pink blooms.
