Altissimo
Large flowered climber
1966
Altissimo

The reddest flowers in our many rose gardens belong to `Altissimo'. The blooms are a true blood red, which when they age, don't turn purple/red. The flowers are large, flat and nearly single (only 8-10 petals). It is a moderate climber, growing to only about 10'. The new growth is almost as pretty as the blooms.
'Altissimo' loves our Texas heat as there are blooms almost all year and is very disease resistant.

Bred in France in 1966.
Parentage: 'Tenor' x seedling.
